The Myth about the First Press of Jude Berry Oil

In the country of Barranco there is a myth about the first Jude Berry oil press of the season and the health benefits of its purple bust, a by-product of the pressing.    The Jube Berry Tree is native to the North Eastern Coast of Barranco on the coastal plain of the Inland Passage. In the early summer, the warm sea breeze ripens the berries and when they turn Purple it is time to pick them. They are only Purple for about 2 days over the summer, and if they are not harvested at this time they are known as Second Press Jude Berry, which are not special.   For the special first press of the purple berries, the people of the region have a myth that whoever breathes in the purple dust from the first press of Jude Berries will have Health for the year to come. Even though there is not a lot of medical evidence of this being the case there is plenty of anecdotal evidence supported by the general healthy disposition of the population.    To manage this popular myth the local government has arranged the mass harvest of the purple berries on the days when they ripen and then will arrange a public pressing festival in every town or village in the area. The Festival always has a large tower structure built in the town square or other public venue, where the berries are placed before the pressing. Large bellows are then placed at the sides of the tower to direct air into the pressing machine which creates a cloud of dust that settles over the square as a climax to the festival. After the purple cloud is released, the berries are cracked and pressed so that the Jude BErry Oil is released and bottled.    In many ways, the First Press of Jude Berry Oil festival is more than just an interesting event, but is signifies the start of the harvesting season in the region and is a great thing to celebrate.
