Iron Blood Empire
After Calamity and the collapse of the Eléventes Imperium, the lands of Les Eléventes were left divided. Borders were drawn and states separated from one another. After hundreds of years of fighting, a new power rose from the North. A clan of warriors called “Iron-Blood” from the island Barghaus, known for their frequent and bloody raids along the northern coasts of Edenfallia, conquered lands along the coast of the Galacial Sea and have since stretched their empire's borders across the North.
Culture
The first Iron-blood's were raiders and warriors above all else. Their traditions of sea fairing and conquest are deep rooted in Iron Blood society.
During the early 900's
History
The origins of the Iron Blood Empire are rooted in clan Iron-blood who came to power on the Ilse of Barghaus. Barghaus was at this time aJotun stronghold well into the Fourth Age.
The Iron-blood clan originated as bannermen of Gorm Gillingr. Though they were charged with protecting the giant, the latent promise of power eventually proved too seductive to ignore.
DISCLAIMER. The Monarchy would tell of the giant's defeat through combat, most of the Foundry's records suggest Gorm was murdered by way of poison.
Regardless of method, the Jotun lord was felled and his most loyal house guard assumed ruler of the Kingdom after a brief power struggle between rival houses and Gillingr loyalists.
Military
Clan’s are permitted to assemble and keep their own personal armies, but the Empress alone commands the Great Horde. The largest army by sheer numbers on the continent, the Great Horde is the central military of Caarth.
Religion
Iron-Bloods were sea raiders originally, so organized churches have very little political power. While some follow the same pantheon as the rest of Les Eléventes, there are many who worship local spiritual or nature based legends/deities. This heretical acceptance disturbs the international religious community.
