Shaeddyn

Backstory

Shaeddyn was once an archangel of a goddess of shadow, one of her warriors and exactor of divine justice. This goddess pursued a prophesy that says that a human girl would be born of divinity and would be her ultimate downfall. She would send her disciples to find the girl and kill her, only to find that her soul would be born again into another human. This went on for countless centuries until the goddess decided to start keeping her captive and isolated so they didn't have to track her down so often. Then they would sacrifice her before she came of age. Shaeddyn weathered this atrocity, seeing it carried out time and time again. One day he was tasked with carrying out her death sentence and something in him broke. His compassion for this girl outweighed his love for his goddess. He rescued her, only to lose her soon after, unable to escape. He was cast down, sentenced to a life on the planet of mortals. There he would spend even more centuries, trying to track down the girl when she was born and protect her. Again and again he failed, but he persevered. He latched on to the fact that she had no one else to fight for her. He used his time on earth wisely, making contacts with the right people and using his powers to gain wealth and influence in the right circles. All the while, he remained mostly an unknown player in the region.
