Pope Celestine III

(a.k.a. Giacinto Bobone)

Head of the Catholic Church and ruler of the Papal States from his election as Pope on 30 March 1191.
As Giacinto Bobone he served as a cardinal from 1144 to 1191.
Celestine has appointed two of his nephews cardinals, and allowed his cousin Giovanni Gaetano to buy the fiefs of Vicovaro, Licenza, Roccagiovine and Nettuno, the future powerbase of the Bobone-Orsini family.
