Session 2: Out of the Crucible Report
General Summary
Elric and Cedric continued on to the The Great Tree of the Rakashans. There there saw that Geoffroi was already killed and being prepared for roasting. They used the distraction of the tigermen feast to slip up into the tree and rescue Myles, Bardolf, and Tobiasch. Upon their escape they found themselves in the Mist, and wandered for a while.
Eventually, they saw a naga slithering toward them, and Cedric espied a cave in a nearby rock face. They piled in, and the naga passed. They soon discovered they were in an ancient passagio dei, where they stayed the night and were picked up by the others in the morning.
The group trying to rescue Eisley made their way to Two Spires Village, where they began sneaking onto the network of boardwalks. While doing so, the cultists began a ritual to initiate a member to higher powers. Most of the groupavoided the gathering, but Smok advanced and threw a rock, hitting one of the priests. A brief chase ensued, with Smok a captive.
While the cultists were occupied with the goblin, the others searched the remaining buildings and found and rescued Eisley and the book he had been ordered to read. The group fled for the boats, but not before setting fire to the jail. Meanwhile, Smok managed to wriggle out of the grasp of the cultists and plunged into the frigid lake.
The mists sprang up for them too, and Smok and the others were separated. Smok used his cloak, which turned out to be a cartological map of the Mists, to find his way to the odd clearing about a mile away. The others wandered back as best they could, but they were soon set upon by a trio of Hollowgasts, who killed Timbul and Aditi before the others could get away.
They also found themselves in the clearing, which turned out to be the strange tower of a witch. Stigala interacted with her, and was told she had a "glimmer" of magical potential, so she stayed for a few days while the others used Smok's map to get back to Kalai.
In the village, Benedicte Kampari made Rowan a Bastione and Elric and Arrogate, while Smok became elder Crematore after the revealed death of his father. Stigala returned to the village a few days later, sporting a new ocular tattoo and the ability to use the Deck of the Shrouded Path. Cedric married Lunette and was made a Gallant by Clarity.
