The Plague of the Red Tears strikes the land and kills nearly two-thirds of the population, including all the Engros.

The Plague was secretly initiated by certain members of the Reliquary to try to find the bloodline of The Chosen--those that the Samraaji allowed into their ships--since they were treated to be able to bypass the defensive wards.
