A loud and boisterous tavern located in Phlan’s Docks district, it is the stomping ground of sailors, dock workers and adventurers with strong affiliations to The Welcomers. Owned by xxxxx, it is a long standing fixture in Phlan’s docks though it has been destroyed, shut down, outlawed, flooded and in one instance dragged into the Planes, it has always reappeared, often under a different owner and location but with the same name and reputation each time. Fights are regular and occasionally lethal, though patrons and owners are clever enough to ensure that bodies are never found on site. The ale is generally whatever they have on tap that day and can vary wildly in taste, texture and safety but you would struggle to find a cheaper pint. The food is often seen as a death trap, though despite the many warnings, its meat pies (the “meat” is un-quantified) remain semi-famous across the Moonsea.
Whoring, drugs, gambling and duels are allowed if not encouraged and is regulated via violence from the patrons, weapons often wielded in the same hands as the drinks. Information and rumours are free flowing and there are fewer places in Phlan in which you could find such a wealth of stories and tales from across Faerun. The barkeep himself is said to be well connected and for the right price is able to put you in touch with whoever or whatever you need. The Black Fists have been known to raid the tavern, either to snatch unsuspecting patrons or simply bust some heads, but they would only do so in force and are never stupid enough to tarry afterwards.
