Dragon Barrow Report

General Summary

The party ventured westward. They encountered a nobleman calling himself Volo who spun them tales of dragons, dragonslayers and dracoliches. Turning northward, they camped then ventured toward some standing stones marking the barrow they sought, coming upon the necromancer Hamun Kost and a host of undead attempting to gain entrance to the barrow. The party destroyed the zombies and drove off Kost, causing him to flee on the wings of teleport magic. Venturing beneath the hill down an uncovered stair, they discovered a tomb dedicate to the Trio - Torm, Tyr and Ilmater. The tomb contained the resting places of heroes that fought Azarzhel, the Storm of Swords. Looting several tombs, they gained a selection of magic items and a phantom steed. They faced several trials, based around the virtues of the Trio - the Path of the Righteous, the Mirror of Guilt, the Loyal Sacrifice. Upon passing the trials, the heroes gained entry to the inner tomb where the blade Stormsbane sat, impaling the skull of Azarzhel within a magical circle of runes. Cheris communed with Lady Tanamere's spirit, bound to the blade Stormsbane. Impatiently, some of the companions reached for the blade, but discovered its true location was elsewhere and the circle was a portal to where the skull and blade lay below ground, in the lair of Azarzhel. Azarzhel reared above the heroes, his spine lighting up wit arcing lightning and a storm of fury crackling in his maw....
