Baron Levev
Baron Levev is a Cormyrean noble title, inherited by the head of the House of Lev. The title includes a significant demesne in the Storm Horn Mountains, including the estate of Lev's Keep and scattered lucrative mining settlements, most notably Trofimstead.
History
The title was first created following the Goblin War of 1370-71, when the Cormyrean adventurer of Damaran origin Lev 'the Axe' was ennobled following his exploits over the course of the war. The title was originally unnamed, with the new noble known as Baron Lev with no elaboration. Following the construction of Lev’s Keep commencing in 1372 DR, the title was occasionally referred to as ‘Baron of Lev’s Keep’. After Lev’s heir Nikolay inherited the title in 1398 DR, he began to use the title ‘Baron Levev’, Levev being a Damaran form of ‘son of Lev’ (should a female descendant inherit, the corresponding title would be ‘Baroness Leveva’). The title was formally named ‘Baron Levev’ in Cormyrean official documents in the early 1400s DR. Lev the Axe was also posthumously referred to as such, even though such a title would imply he was his own son. As of 1494 DR there have been five Barons Levev, each inheriting the Lev demesne and acting as the head of the House of Lev. The current holder of the title is Baron Sergey Levev.List of Barons Levev
