Lev the Axe
Lev "the Axe" (c. 1336 - 1398) was a human man, adventurer, founder of House Lev, and first Baron of Lev Keep. He successfully defended the town of Minroe during the Goblin War, preventing its destruction, unlike most of the other towns in western Cormyr. Named a Baron for his heroics, and granted feudal ownership of a mineral-rich but destitute stretch of western Cormyr, located deep in the Stormhorns. As he was an orphan, he had no family name, and so his new noble house was dubbed the House of Lev (descendants typically adopting the surname Levev/a meaning son/daughter of Lev). He constructed a castle overlooking a little-used pass in the Stormhorns, which became the ancestral castle of the House of Lev. His weapon and armor, respectively dubbed The Black Axe of Lev and the Black Cuirass of Lev the Axe, are treasures of the House to this day and act almost as regalia - often the first order of a new Baron is to have the Black Cuirass refitted for their frame.
