Medari Fairwind
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Special abilities
In addition, she has learned to use magic and cast spells, like other warlocks. She particularly likes mirror image, as she believes it allows her to assert her dominance over a foe more effectively. Her fey magic also gives her the ability to cast mage armor on herself at-will, which is useful when diving (as she fully disrobes when swimming). In addition, her eyes are enhanced by magic, allowing her to see perfectly at a fair distance into pitch darkness.
Apparel & Accessories
In battle, Medari wears a set of blue dragon scale armor, made from the scales of a powerful blue dragon. She received it as a gift from her patron, Elias Alastai, who believed she had strong romantic feelings towards a blue dragon (in reality, she still felt attached to her experience with the Blue Dragons). It consists of a metal formfitting chest piece overlaid with dragon scales, which fully covers the arms. The leg pieces are thigh-high metal boots, also covered in dragon scales. In addition, it has a short skirt made from scales, which partly covers her legs.

Personal history
In early 1484 DR, Medari's mother managed to recover a sizable treasure haul. It was enough to allow her father to retire from the Blue Dragons and purchase a small cargo ship of their own. As war broke out between Cormyr and Netheril, Medari aided her family in running their ship, sailing cargo between Cormyrean ports. During this time, Medari's mother also instructed her on free diving and treasure diving, and her father taught her how to use various weapons.
In 1487 DR, Medari enlisted in the Blue Dragons. She had seen enough of the safe coasts of Cormyr, and instead wanted excitement and adventure. She barely passed the physical tests to join, and was inducted on the first day of Mirtul, 1487 DR. However, Medari quickly discovered why there were significantly fewer women than men in the Blue Dragons. As the only woman aboard her vessel, she was constantly the subject of sexual advances by the rest of the enlisted crew. Despite this, Medari found ways of making herself a respected member of the crew - often through accepting those advances, niceties, deception, or outright intimidation.
After three years in the navy, Medari had enough, and resigned in 1490 DR. She returned to her parents to help with their ship, but also took up adventuring on occasion. Over time though, adventuring took up more and more of her time, and it became her career. She would travel around the coast, helping people with minor problems like missing pets and marauding monsters.
In mid 1491 DR, she had heard of a 'creature' terrorising the folk of a small fishing village on the Cormyrean coast. She managed to track it to its underwater lair, and went to confront it with nothing but her trident. When she made her way into the flooded cave, she discovered that it was no creature, but an eladrin warlock who had betrayed the Court of Coral. She fought him, and in the process, destroyed a magical ward concealing the cave. The warlock flew into a fury, breaking her trident, and pinning her to the cave wall until she drowned.
However, a number of Shiere Knights of Elias Alastai transported themselves to the cave and apprehended the warlock. As Medari had helped them eliminate a traitor to the Court of Coral, she was brought with them back to the Feywild, revived with magic, and granted an audience with the archfey Elias Alastai himself. He offered her the traitor's position in his court as a warlock, which she accepted.
She received martial training and magic from the Court of Coral. After a time, she was permitted to return to the Material Plane. Her newfound abilities granted her the ability to pursue more dangerous quests, taking on powerful monsters by herself. For the next few years, she adventured solo, but didn't become particularly wealthy. She would often return to her parents to aid them with anything they required.
Wishing for more independence from her parents, Medari aventured far afield from Suzail. Rather than pay for inns, she would persuade people to let her stay overnight at their home. In Eleisas of 1493 DR, Medari met another adventurer, Emilia Leveva, who had recently arrived in Suzail. Medari had been thinking about settling down more permanently in one place, and convinced Emilia to share the cost of a renting a home within the city. The two would live together for several months, before Emilia ultimately elected to move on from her homeland to the far-off city of Waterdeep.
With her roommate gone and lacking a suitable replacement, Medari had to take on larger, more time-consuming, and dangerous quests by herself to continue her lifestyle. Even though her friend had moved to Waterdeep, Medari was able to correspond with her via courier regularly. In early Flamerule, 1494 DR, Emilia returned to Suzail to reunite with her friends. She caught up with Medari, and presented her with a job offer: Medari could be the first mate of the Twilight Wanderer, which would be a de facto captain. Before Emilia had left the city, Medari agreed. She spent the next tenday preparing to leave and saying goodbye, having one last (early) birthday celebration with her parents in mid Flamerule.
In Waterdeep, Medari was introduced to the Arrowheads and the Twilight Wanderer. With her at the helm, the ship made its maiden voyage in late Flamerule. She was entrusted with the ship by Sariel Liadon, its owner and Medari's employer. Since then, Medari has sailed up and down the Sword Coast with her crew, carrying cargo, salvaging treasure, and transporting the Arrowheads.
