Founded in 1148, Skullport has grown into a secure settlement for smugglers, slavers, assassins, thieves, and buccaneers, all of whom have flocked to the Port of Shadow to conduct their illicit business. 
Lying beneath the city of WATERDEEP, its growth has largely been left alone by the authorities, who have accepted that every city has its darker areas; the criminals of Skullport remain hidden from daily life in the City of Splendours so why not just leave them be in their underground domain?
