WATERDEEP - THE CITY OF SPLENDOURS, THE CROWN OF THE NORTH
The city of Waterdeep lies on the shores of the Sword Coast and is a place of many wonders. Whilst the city itself is walled and gated, its lands (as is the case with many of the city-states in the North and the Sword Coast) spread much further afield and visitors to the vast settlement will find themselves in Waterdeep territory long before they see its walls and towers.
The city is governed by a number of powerful individuals, noble families seek to extend their influence and various factions vie for control of their piece of the city, no matter how large or small.
Waterdeep is home to many notable landmarks and incredible buildings, and visitors to the city can spend many a day wandering the streets and lanes of this wondrous metropolis. Impossible amounts of wealth are to be found.
The city is home to many thousands of Waterdhavians (as the locals are known) of all race, creed and ambition.
It is a city of opportunity for those looking to make their name, but such desire carries its own risks; many are those who wish to maintain the status quo or see other ambitious parties as rivals.
