The Nine

The Nine was one of the most powerful adventuring parties in the last century. They were based out of the subterranean base called the Stronghold of the Nine, although that was destroyed following Laeral's fall to madness. Before they disbanded they were known to have links to the Lord's Alliance and the Lords of Waterdeep.

In 1337 DR the Nine acquired the Netherese artifact known as the Crown of Horns. While the exact circumstances surrounding the event is full of contradictions, it is known that Laeral Silverhand went mad while wearing it, causing the adventuring party to shatter. Only two members were known to stick with Laeral, with the rest going their own different ways.
Members:

• Laeral Silverhand - Leader
• Bartholemew the Mad - An eldritch warlock, claimed to have traveled to the Far Realms. Fate unknown
• Vignar the Demon Hunter - A lizardfolk warrior said to be from the Nine Hells. Was known for her ability to battle any fiend to a standstill by herself. Joined the Beast Pirates.
• Thanadar of Dragonrock - A dwarven dragonrider. He kept in contact with Laeral once she regained her sanity but died during the Spellplague trying to seal a planar rift.
• Arnthiir Windrivv - Not much is known about Arnthiir other than they were a cleric of Lliira. They were slain by Slothlis during his invasion of Murann.
• Meow-Meow Fuzzy Face - A Khajiit warrior, was known for his sheer ruthlessness. Went on to found the Beast Pirates alongside Vignar.
• Slothlis - A powerful Ogre Mage, was known for his research into the eldritch and technology. Went on to create the Warforged and found the Ogre Kingdom.
• Mirtria Neverwinter - The current ruler of the city of Neverwinter, she was known for going into the Plane of Water and battling a powerful ice elemental, claiming its power for herself.
• Anubis - Rumours say he was once a superweapon made by the now fallen Netherese Empire. He was able to control the desert around him with uncanny ability. With the fall of the Nine he ended up traveling to Calimshan and is currently their main protector.
