A2 - Start of the Storm

1496.SU.16   In the morning the adventurers wake from a good nights sleep at the Inn. Before setting off for Leilon the group has a hearty breakfast and take the opportunity to catch up with some of the patrons and staff before leaving. Many are thankful and a talented bard, Tarbin Tul has written a poem in Maples honour.   When arriving on the outskirts of Leilon the party find a group of towns people panicking whilst Grizzelda tries to calm the situation. The party listen in and are able to learn that they have fled the settlement from something near the water. More importantly they learn that two children have been left behind in the settlement. As the party heads toward the settlement a wagon and knights riding horses made of water charge out and attack the party. Using the slight incline as an advantage Maple and Mordai pick of many of the enemy from a distance. Meanwhile the others dispatch the knights up close with brutal slashing of their axe and mace. Now realising the danger the council beg for the party to save the children.   Inside the ruined settlement the maze of broken buildings makes slow progress but luckily avoiding the patrols for a while the party stumble across the hiding children. Quietly ushering them out of the ruin the party returns to the dock. Now a huge storm cloud begins to appear near the waters edge and the distant shape of a Kraken priest can be seen carrying out a ritual. With the element of surprise the party strike, but the berserkers and priest put up a tough fight. Whilst Captain Albert Boatman goes toe to toe with Beserkers, Mordai matches his arcane skill against Kraken Priest, eventually managing to best him. However, before they can celebrate the swamp water erupts with a large water elemental, fighting to the death with the intent on attacking the sacrifices left on the small plot of land. The group battered and bruised wade out into the shallow waters to save the innocent sacrifices and destroy the Water elemental. Sapping the last off the parties magical power the water element is scattered.   With the sacrifices and children saved the town council (Grizzelda, Valdi and Merrygold) thank the party and introduce themselves formally. Once all was done the party rested, Maple had an unusual restless meditation. The following morning with the light the Party explored the settlement.
