Pubert has been charmed by a, woman? Or is she really a succubus? Either way, she's enticed him to attack her guards and now you're in a battle with four Thayan Warriors.
Pubert has been charmed by a succubus but only Brehana is aware of it. She’s enticed him to attack her guards and so he does (little does she know, she probably didn’t need to charm him to get him to rush into battle).
Malice quickly catches on and hits Pubert with an Eldritch Blast to get him to snap out of it, but by then he’s already locked into dealing with Pencheska’s guards, while she has retreated to the back of the chamber while giving encouragement to Pubert for his efforts.
Once the guards are dealt with, the Iron Company turns to Pencheska but she pleads for her life. She claims, especially since Brehana was disguised as one of her captors, that she only used charm on Pubert because she couldn’t risk them saying no if she asked for help.
She gives you a glyph key attuned to the Temple of Chaos and says you can also have whatever is in her closets if you just let her leave as she’s been kept here by Tarul Var whom she suspects has his quarters near by. She also informs you the source of heat for this room is beyond a secret door to the northeast as well as revealing the secret door in the south wall that she says Tarul uses when he visits her. She’s allowed to leave and as soon as she is clear of the room, she dissaparates away.
Choosing to try the secret door to the northeast first, you find a fire elemental that is clearly trapped. He almost seems sad and through magical means Brehana realizes it’s repeating the word “home”. Determining the cause of the elementals inability to move are the runes inscribed on the walls, Malice is able to use his Arcane knowledge to dispel them long enough to allow the creature to escape, which results in him following Malice around not unlike a lost puppy.
Choosing not to head through the southern secret door and risk meeting up with a lich when you have yet to find and destroy the Phylactery Vault, you back track through the Fiendish Arena, where your first find and loot the sarcophagus of the vampire you defeated earlier, but not without first realizing how many pit traps there are in the Doomvault.
You then pass through a white gate using the hallway in the south west corner of the Arena into the area known as the Predator Pools – specifically into a zone called the Pools of Devotion. There you find rooms featuring large deep pools of water. The first contains a Juvenile Kraken, which has been clearly brainwashed to server the Red Wizards and therefore attacks and fights to the death against intruders
The second chamber has a young Dragon Turtle chained up. Thankfully though, it was only recently captured, and it is not yet under the sway of the Thayans. You free it and it agrees to help, informing you of the Naga in the room beyond the double doors at the top of the stairs.
You prepare for another fight, this time with a Fire Elemental and a small Dragon Turtle in tow.
