Expedition
You've defeated Arauthator, "The Great White Death". Now all you have to do is figure out how to get out of Oyaviggaton alive, convince Maccath to come with you and haul all of the treasure, especially the stolen Arcane Brotherood library back to civilzation. Arauthator lies dead in his lair, but the fight is not over as two of his Ice Troll minions come rushing in, no doubt summoned by Arauthor earlier, iceberg shaking roar. Rikon is still badly hurt and wobbly from his encounter with the dragon’s icy breath weapon but despite that you all prevail over the Trolls using both Hazirawn’s abilities and spells that prevent the Trolls from using their regenerative abilities. Once you have claimed trophies from the dragon, including his head to show to Barking Seal and Bonecarver as proof that they are now free of “The Great White Death”, you climb back up the ropes into the Scrptorium and then to Maccath’s chambers. She is clearly surprised you are still alive as it’s been more than an hour and she of course heard Arauthator’s roar. She is however still impressed and agrees to come with you but only if you can find a way to return all of the Arcane Brotherhood materials that Arauthator stole as well as convincing the Ice Toad’s leader, Mafulb to give you access to her extensive archives. Maccath takes you to speak with Mafulb who is saddned by Arauthator’s death but not hostile toward his killers. She offers two alternatives – either those who would study her library come here, or she be allowed to accompany it south if it gets relocated. You agree and send word via the Diplomat Pouch of the dragons demise, Maccath’s wellbeing and the existence of extensive materials and treasure that could help with the coming fight but you need a larger ship or ships to come north as there is too much for Frostskimmr to bear. It is noted by both Maccath and Marfulb, however, that Arauthor’s Troll and Kobold servants will likely not take kindly to their masters’ death and certainly will not allow others to take over the iceberg. You will need to clear them out. The council also would like a rough inventory of how much of a horde the dragon had so they can gauge how many ships and of what size to dispatch.
