Sulu is a Nezumi Paladin and Hexblade Warlock of The Raven Queen.

Personal history

Years ago, a group of grung enslaved the young Sulu near the south end of Dinma in the swamps' depths. While most would assume that with the outlaw of slavery in Dinma, this would be impossible, but most of the grung refused to give up what they believed to be their property. Many couldn’t keep up this criminal activity when they were so close to Coven Island, where two of the Aasimar reside, but they found a way around this problem. The solution was a tunneling system leading to Dinma’s Underdark. There is an entrance in the swamps that only the grung know about, using these passageways to move their slaves from place to place. Finding these entrances without guidance is like finding a needle in a haystack, and even if you find one, you couldn’t hope to see them all. Despite this, he would later enlist the assistance of AT-3703 and Cheep of The National Sex-Fort Warriors to assist in clearing out the remaining slavers in the cavern where he made his escape. When Sulu escaped, he didn’t use a standard entrance or exit. Instead, it was a long-con that involved a lot of by-hand tunneling and covert cooperation among his siblings and the other slaves. Unfortunately, since he didn’t use a standard entrance, he had trouble finding any leads on the other passages' location to the Underdark. Sulu never went to the authorities about his enslavement. He knows that what he did was technically murder, and it’s hard for the guards to do anything without concrete evidence or leads. The grung are sapient beings who are considered people with citizens’ rights, so they can’t perform an invasive investigation without a warrant. After escaping Vileskin Swamp, he lived for a few years on Coven Island, where he met and befriended Crackle, a kenku woman. Soon after, he moved to Feyloth with Phedra and Crackle.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Sulu is a minor hero known for freeing slaves. These slaves included himself and a handful of family members who now reside on Coven Island. As a relatively small settlement, almost every person on the island heard about a local Nezumi who freed a group of slaves from Vileskin Swamp.

Contacts & Relations

Sulu has several friends on Coven Island and 3 other siblings (2 sisters and a brother, not including the one that came with him to Feyloth). His mother is still alive, though his father fell in the fight where they gained their freedom.

Crackle

Ms. Crackle’s name comes from the sound of a popping campfire. She met Sulu during his time on Coven Island, where she expressed her desires to learn wizardry. Druids are neat and all, but she doesn’t think they’re as cool. Upon hearing that Sulu and Phedra planned to leave for Feyloth, she opted to accompany them in hopes of joining The Arcana Guild.
