The Adamantium Lord - DT
Bragg is an imposing figure, he wears armour larger and thicker than full plate, astride a huge warhorse with glowing red eyes. Perched on his shoulder is an old tabby cat, it glares at you with derision.
Called Bragg Rawne by his parents, this man (465 AQ - 518 AQ) was a born warrior. Even as a child it was clear that he was different than the other boys. Strong. Fast. Lethal. He found his calling in battle and at a young age became of soldier of fortune.
In 490 AQ he was hired, along with numerous others, by the bank Wells Fargo for a mysterious mission. They sailed him out to a remote island where their forces encountered a battle fleet of Gith.
In what is now known as the Battle of Chicxulub the Wells Fargo forces attacked the Gith. The mercenaries you fought beside were aided by strange creatures, shades you could drain a man’s soul with a touch and darker things still. You recognised the evil that you were aligned with as the bloody battle progressed. The shades were commanded by a young woman with an old voice and grey eyes.
Bragg had three friends in the company, Caswell, Fisher and Macon. On the second day of the fighting heand three comrades fled the island together, and returned home to their families. They heard vague rumours of Wells Fargo being defeated in an island battle and thought it was all behind them.
Then the Razors came.
One by one Bragg's friends began to disappear, then, one by one, they began to reappear, in alleys, in ditches, in rivers. He took his wife and three children and fled, but no matter where he ran the Razors followed.
Bragg never saw them, just their work. No matter how far he ran, each week a member of his family would die. Stabbed, strangled, impaled. This continued until it was just Bragg and his daughter. He stood awake over her all night and in the morning her body was cold, he found poison smeared on her pillow. Each night after that Bragg expected to be his last, but the Razors never came for him.
Time passed and Bragg continued to live. Desperate for vengeance, he found the Harpers and joined them, hoping to fight to end the evils of Wells Fargo forever.
In 502 AQ Bragg was stationed in Phobos with the Second Strings (PC Group). The Second Strings temporarily joined forces with the Razors of Phobos (PC group) in a desperate battle against Lamar Auralias. They slew the Vampire, but a number of Harpers were killed, and one joined the Razors after the battle. Disgusted by his allies lack of resolve, Bragg left the Harpers.
Bragg was approached by the Vetala, which offered him the power to strike a meaningful blow against those who took everything from him. Bragg accepted the Vetala's offer, turning on his home nation for a chance at revenge. At this point he stopped being Bragg and became The Adamantium Lord.
In 518 AQ The Adamantium Lord led the Grey Company in their invasion of Farrah. They slew thousands and razed towns on their path to Quisling. The Adamantium Lord commanded the besieging troops. While in his camps he fought off an assassination attempt by a Vampire of Eleyne Winter's coven. After watching in shock as the cities' defenders burned their own citizens The Adamantium Lord, assured of the evil of those he opposed, ordered the assault.
The Vetala had promised that if Bragg could bring it across the bridge onto Alamaren Island in the heart of the city it would gain the power to strike down Wells Fargo and Occam. The Adamantium Lord's soldiers drove a spearhead through the city, over Wall Othram and toward Alamaren Island. He came to a bridge, the last point of defence for the Soldier of Farrah. Among the defenders were the Razors of Quisling (PC Group).
The Adamantium Lord pushed, inch by inch along the bridge. A thousand blows and poisoned arrows struck him, each wound enough to slay a lesser man. The Adamantium Lord began to lose consciousness. He staggered to the edge of the bridge and with his last breath collapsed over the side, into the water, mere feet shy of his goal. As he sank into the water and passed from the world he saw the Vetala, in the body of a cat, swim away from his body and up onto the riverbank.
The Adamantium Lord died with a smile on his lips, wishing the Vetala luck in its quest to destroy those that had killed his family.
