The founding of Dunaren Empire

For nigh on 1000 years, the land was known as a place of natural disaster after natural disaster as the continent was ripped by a massive tectonic rift through the middle. This area is known as The Spine and was the site of hundreds of volcanoes and earthquake epicentres. The gods were angry and were letting the people know it.
About 730 years ago, an archmage known as Dunaren worked out (it is said with the help of their own god protector, god of the wind, Minastre) how to quell the earth and stop ruptures.
Thus Order of the Earth was created and the first dunastic empire of Dunaren (the Dunaren Empire) was formed. They proceeded to tame The Spine and set up watch points encircling the great mountain range that now lay dormant.
Through successive generations, the knowledge of Dunaren has been passed on through the Order and has led to a peaceful few centuries. But with peace and comfort there is also complacency.
