Mossbrook Clan
The Mossbrook Clan is an extended family of druids and rangers in the western portion of the Donn Passin a forest called the Mossbrook Groves. The Mossbrooks have dwelt there so long that whether the place took its name from the family or the family took the name from the place is long forgotten. They protect the forest and maintain the great East-West road through the pass, sometimes interacting with the priests of the Monastery of Phaerean to the east of the groves, travelers and merchants on the road, and some of the herders and farmers who live further east, although they tend to he a very insular and isolated group.
The family considers itself as descendants of Aamura, the Morning Maiden, by Ardumnos, a spirit of the forest, by their son, Leadarth the Half-Bear. This association with Ardumnos is supposedly why the Mossbrooks have such an affinity for bears as their go-to Wild Shape form and familiars. They consider bears to be their kin.
During the heyday of the Donn Pass druids, the Mossbrooks served as chiefs, in part due to their connection to the spirit of the land.
