Hailed as a hero by all the survivors of the Fall of Afora, Severin, with the help of the priestess Yolande, was responsible for evacuating many of the children of Afora aboard a ship. He took the Aforan refugees to Caer Dol, thinking that they would be safe there. He was the de facto leader of Afora in exile, and spent the end of his life doing everything he could to ensure a good life for his single surviving child, Leonor, and later his grandson Sebastian.
