III. Story Time

General Summary

After slaying the giants sleeping under the furs in the previous room, the party next stumbled into what seemed to be the Hill Giants' nursery.

"Snacks for us?"
-Hill Giant Child

Rather than forcing the group to have to make the terrible choice of whether to slay the young giants inside or not, Dev stepped in to distract the children by teaching them a fantastical song. Placated with the fun new activity, the party was confident that the children wouldn’t alert the adults to their presence and continued on with their mission. In the next room, the party fought a pack of Direwolves that the giants were keeping locked up. The Valandian found and held up a horn and whip that he found in the room, to which the Direwolves responded by cowering. He used them to hold the Direwolves at bay until the party had passed through the room. After slaying one Direwolf, Tharduin prayed before it, paying due reverence to such a powerful hunter.
