Roak Ironbeard
Prince of the Iron Islands
Roak Ironbeard is the second child of King Asgot Ironbeard and Queen Astrid Frydenlund of the Iron Islands. At some point, he either chose to or was charmed into following the god Dhor, the enemy of his family's patron god Egar. Under orders from Dhor, he slew his parents and uncle, taking the throne for himself and instating the Dhoren to enforce Dhor's will on the islands.
Roak fought his younger brother Jäger and the Ring & Wren onboard their ship the Leeward when they were enroute to Durssundrr, accompanied by Leviathan and an avatar of Dhor in the form of a Kraken. Roak himself killed Jäger twice, and his overwhelming forces forced the party to retreat expeditiously, with only the power of a Wish strong enough to save them.
Recent Events
Recently, the Ring & Wren were able to rematch Roak in the throne room of Hammerhead Keep. When the battle was over, Jäger gave Roak one last chance to abandon Dhor. Roak refused, so Jäger killed him with a hammer to the head. Jäger then revivified Roak and was successful in changing his mind, but Roak told him that he could still feel Dhor's presence in his mind. The twos' cousin Regen Wakerock was able to purge Dhor from Roak's mind, but the process left him permanently blind. Afterwards, it was decided that Roak would be unfit to take the throne of Ironrock, though he would normally be its heir. Instead, Jäger left Regen in charge as King Regent. Roak's fate as of yet has been undecided, since Jäger promised the god Egar that Roak would serve in his realm as punishment for his transgressions and in place of Rota Sturmdottir.Social
