The New Gods

Origins

The creation story begins with the Old Gods forming the world of Fen (where this story takes place), and ends with the usurpation by King Cedric Baramont who sealed the old gods away in a celestial prison about 700 years ago.   After The Old Gods were usurped, King Cedric Baramont ascended his own family (Queen Delaney Baramont, Prince Marcellus Baramont, and Princess Cara Baramont) to godhood.

The Pantheon

Cedric Baramont

Chaotic Good   King Cedric Baramont is the most powerful currently-active deity. He is the God-King of The Baramont Empire. Cedric's values are based around family; he would do anything to protect his wife and children. Cedric's domains include:
  • Tempest
  • Forge
  • Life
  • Order
  • War

Delaney Baramont

Lawful Good   Delaney serves as the glue that keeps the royal family together, and plays an active part in preventing the rest of the family from acting rashly or violently (as much as she can, anyway). She has taken her Godly responsibilities in stride, keeping the majority of Fen's residents healthy and spending time responding to her "children" when they attempt to commune. Delaney's domains include:
  • Life
  • Light
  • Order
  • Grave
  • Nature

Marcellus Baramont

Lawful Good   Marcellus is the younger of the two Baramont children. He resents his father for the deluge of godly responsibilities placed upon him. Marcellus has grown even crueler than he was as a child, and frequently uses his divine powers to make contact with fiends, often making deals with them to disrupt his father's plans. Marcellus' domains include:
  • Death
  • Arcana
  • Trickery
  • Grave
  • War

Cara Baramont

Lawful Good   Cara is the elder of the two Baramont children. While Cara does share some of Marcellus' hatred for their father, she is bound not only by duty, but also her love for her family. She finds her father's hardheadedness and lack of nuance to be his greatest flaws, and utilizes quick wit and manipulation to compensate. Cara is often involved in assassinations unknown even to her father. Cara's domains include:
  • Knowledge
  • Arcana
  • Death
  • Trickery
  • Temptest
