Cinqualian Empire

The Cinqualian Empire is a group of five princedoms established by five prominent kings after the conclusion of The Forever War . Each princedom was assigned to each king and tasked with perfecting one of the five pillars of civilization for the benefit of the Empire as a whole. The Princedoms are Kulpha , Kobetan , Kangam , Kodelt , and Kepsil . The five pillars each princedom was individually tasked with were agriculture, infrastructure, communication, wellness, and technology respectively.
Over time, each princedom has experienced varying levels of unrest or rebellion that has shaped how each operates politically to elect or inherit rulership. Thusly, crossing from one princedom to the next can be somewhat jarring due to the cultural expectations of each region.
Representatives from each princedom meet quarterly to exchange their findings as it pertains to their respective pillar. Each princedom is expected to regularly contribute and is held accountable by the others. As one can imagine, the princedoms regularly try to keep their more groundbreaking dicoveries for themselves, and there is a constant jockeying between princedoms to maintain leverage over one another, while also revealing the major breakthroughs of the others. Most of the time, this process is executed in an amiable fashion, but has occasionally led to larger conflicts throughout the Empire's history.
The most notable invention was developed by Kangam, which is an intricate communication system that allows the Princedoms to work in unison and make logistical decisions in real time.
