Floaty Islands
So, as we are all very well aware, our entire world is located on a giant landmass, surrounded by Ocean. On both sides, top and bottom one, the landmass is sticking out of the ocean, creating the continents of Ä+*4~ and T@Ö#Ä3. But if you find yourself at any point along the shore of either continent, you’ll likely see at least one island in the distance.
Location
These islands don’t have exact locations on the map. They’re kinda just floating around in the ocean, not attached to anything below. Because of this, they can’t be marked on the map and are pretty hard to find. Most of them are pretty far out in the ocean, but they may float closer to the shores of Ä+*4~ or T@Ö#Ä3 at times.
It’s not entirely sure how many of these are there, but at least five on each side have been spotted.
Nature
Because of their constantly changing location, people haven’t been able to get to any of those islands successfully. Not many times at least. Because they’re cut off from the rest of the world, they have evolved in unique ways that are quite different from our world, and from each other.
One of the ones floating near south Ä+*4~ is known for its lush vegetation, not completely unlike the one found in southern areas of Fairy Gardens and Ä+*4~.
Another one has been seen floating between southeast and northeast of T@Ö#Ä3 and can be visible from the Cliffs of T@Ö#Ä3. People who have been there have described a variety of different colored trees, one of which supposedly grows a golden heart apple.
One of these floaty islands is believed to be the strange and distant land of Burb Gol, known for its strange and magical plants.
Though not confirmed, it’s speculated that at least one of these islands is inhabited by mermaids, but as long as we don’t find any definite proof of this we can’t be sure.
People
Generally it is presumed that no people live in the floaty islands. There may or may not be mermaids, but we can’t be sure about that. Other than that, people have tried to get to these islands, sometimes more successfully than others. People who visit these islands are usually adventurers and explorers, but also people who try to get here out of curiosity or even just by pure chance. Because it’s so hard to get to any of these islands successfully, people have never built anything on here, or tried to establish any settlements.
Known Islands
Some of these have already been mentioned, but here is a full list of the islands we know so far:
Ä+*4~ side:
- Tropical Island: This island is known for its lush vegetation and beautiful sandy beaches. It’s usually close to Ä+*4~ and the one people try to get to most often to enjoy private beautiful beaches. Keep in mind, it's also the island where hand plants were found. They grow in the wild here and may grow much bigger than the ones you're used to as house plants back at home.
- Burb Gol: This island was first found pretty far out on the Ä+*4~ side, north of Desert. It floats around the edge of the world and it’s known for its strange and magical vegetation. Many plants and animals have been very well documented, and many wish to be able to find this island at least once in their lifetime. Alas, it’s pretty far away and hard to find, and some aren’t entirely sure it’s even real
- Mermaid Island (?): This one hasn’t been confirmed yet, but many choose to believe that somewhere out there on one of these islands mermaids live. There’s still enough floaty islands out there unexplored, so you never know
- Specific Island: This is a small collection of islands that don't seem to float around too much and are the easiest to find. They can be found in a specific location south of Ä+*4~, and are thus called Specific Islands
T@Ö#Ä3 side:
- Island of many trees: It’s true, there are many trees on this island and they are all pretty different from each other. Though T@Ö#Ä3 side is known for its lack of life and diversity, this island is home to many trees with differently colored leaves. One of these trees grows the golden heart apple, which is exactly why many are eager to find the island and the tree
- Asylum Island: We are fairy certain that no people ever lived on any of these islands, but curiously, this islands has some ruins on it. The ruins are believed to be parts of an ancient complex that include a hospital and a mental health hospital. It’s believed to the the 2nd most haunted place in our world, after Haunted Forest
