General Summary

Part 3: The Spider's Web (continued)

1. The session began as the party stormed into the front doors of the castle
2. Nearly overwhelmed by the goblins and hobgoblins defending the castle, the party was able to overcome and make their way through
3. The gnomes eventually find a room where, having been alerted, King Grol held the unconscious Gundren Rockseeker as a hostage, threatening to kill him if the party did not surrender
4. Instead, the party attacked King Grol and, in doing so, were ambushed by a hidden drow assassin that had been sent to Grol from the Black Spider
5. The party were able to defeat Grol but he was able to follow through on his threat to kill Gundren Rockseeker in the process
6. Seeing Grol fall and Gundren Rockseeker having been killed, the messenger from the Black Spider, Vyerith, attempted to escape but was chased down and defeated by the party
7. The session ended at the conclusion of combat with Grol and Vyerith
