ToD: Session 50: A village with a secret

General Summary

The party was sleeping when they heard people speaking and a man shouting about the failed assasination attempt on his life by Leo Kennedy. He yelled in the span of 1 hour three times and rallied the townsfolk to exile the recent visitors and accusing them of being in league with the Cult of the Dragon.
After hearing that accusation the party started to wake up and saw a mob going towards them. Leo casted Wall of Force to stop them from coming closer, and Sidon was in a hole outside that wall. They tried to convince the townsfolk that they were not with the cult and that Galin was hiding information from them. Grob drank a mindreading potion, Sidon casted Zone of Truth and they started to ask question to Galin.
With the help of the mindreading the party figured out that:

1. He made a deal with the Wyrmspeaker, to give information of other settlements
2. That the dragon flew South-West
3. He saw his wife being killed by the dragon

The townsfolk then started to turn on Galin and he broke down in tears, and told them that he indeed make a deal. The party then continued their rest and told they would help the town get rid of the Cult. The townsfolk asked what to name the group and they decided to rebrand into: The Bane of Dragons. After the rest the party asked some more questions to Galin and got to know one last piece of information; the Wyrmspeaker haid and clothing was always wet when speaking with him.
The party then left to go south-east and during that journey they met a woman that was shouting help. as the party started lifting the tree from her the tree then began lifting itself off of the women and it turned out the woman was not hurt at all. She congratulated the party for their selflessnes and awarded them with garlands to protect them against the dragons spies. She then turned into an owl and flew away.
They party continued after this weird event and slept in the forest to continue the next day. During this next day the party came across a spiderweb infested part of the forest. While moving through these webs they were ambushed ettercaps and Giant Spiders. They managed to kill most of the creatures with some fleeing. After the battle the party heard some water and remembered the message of Galin.
They went to sound and came upon a waterfall with a little Emerald shing lake at the bottom. After some swimming and investigating they found a cave entrance behind the waterfall and went inside. It was dark and wet and after walking a little bit they came upon some elves standing guard. Grob asked what they were doing here and suspected that there was a dragon here. After hearing this one of the elves ran deeper into the cave and shouted intruders which echoed through the entire cavern.
With this shouting the battle ensued, the party started killing some of the elves and buffing Sidon. There came some cultists from the end of the large room which also started attacking the party. After this a fireball exploded and 3 Ettins came running from below. During the fighting they heard the roar of a Green Dragon. They managed to kill some of the oncoming creatures before the session ended.
