Brother Anacian Kurkuras

Brother Anacian Kurkuras is a well-dressed, well-spoken, calm servant of Ilmater. He has spent most of his life serving the church, including many years as the headmaster of the orphanage and school at the Temple of the White Rose in Hlondeth.
Brother Anacian strikes some non-locals as an unconventional servant of the Crying God. He is well-dressed for a priest of a god of suffering, and he seldom displays the emotional compassion of much of Ilmater's clergy. Still, his devotion to the church is long and unquestioned, and his faithfulness to rule and dogma of the religion is without question. 
Zhivka is one of his most fervent students and followers. The two of them have been dismissive toward Shay but not openly in conflict, and Brother Anacian -- though terse and tense -- has said nothing negative about Reverend Father Castinus  since his arrival.

The leader of Hlondeth's Church of Ilmater for the last five or six years, he has served the Hall of the White Rose there for most of his life.
