Orsraun Mountains

The largest mountain range in the Vilhon Reach, the Orsrauns are a well-known region for all sorts of evil creatures, ranging from the common nuisances of orcs and goblins to the monstrous variety of red dragons. It is a wild place, virtually unchecked by the civilized lands of Turmish or the city of Hlondeth. The northern parts are said to be populated by many orcs, and the southern regions have spilled many kobolds into the surrounding lands over the years.
The Orsrauns form the western border of the republic of Turmish. A natural valley between the range and the Aphrunn Mountains known as the Halondar is the location of the trade road from Turmish to Hlondeth. Other than that, there are few if any known passes through the peaks. With little beyond open plains to the west of the Orsrauns, and a well-traveled road skirting south of them, no incentive sends traffic through the mountains, leaving them wild and untamed, home to whatever is strong enough to survive there.
