Session 5: The Death House

General Summary

The party, having entered the house to help the two kids Thorn and Rose, find most of the first two floors empty. As they make their way up to the third floor they find that the area is unkept. Cob webs and dust fill the area.   Upon entering the third floor they are attacked by a mysterious set of black armor that sprang to life as they characters approached. They were also attached by the spirit of the former nursemaid who took care of Thorn and Rose's baby brother Walter. After quickly handling these threats the characters discover a secret passage leading up to the attic where they could hear strange sounds. The characters attempt to rest but are constantly interrupted in what appears to be an attempt by the house itself to keep them awake.   Upon climbing up to the attic the party quickly discover a bedroom with two sets of human remains. They look to have been children and they are dressed exactly like Rose and Thorn looked when they saw them outside. They also see a complete model of the house setup like a dollhouse in a table in the bedroom. As the party approaches the ghosts of Rose and Thorn come to life and quickly try to befriend the party. When the party questions them about being lured into the house the spirits have no knowledge of this. The tell the story of how their parents locked them in the room long ago and they starved to death. How there was a monster in the basement and it is now being inhabited by a cult.    
The players quickly realize by looking at the house that there is a secret passage leading down to the basement.   Upon entering the basement the players find the crypt for the family and determine that they can lay the spirits of Rose and Thorn to rest by bringing their remains here. The party each receive a point of inspiration for laying them to rest. Throughout the basement the party hears what appears to be constant chanting. As they make their way around they discover that the area appears to have been inhabited by some sort of cult.   The party is attached multiple times by ghasts, ghosts, and then by shadows, each time they are able to defeat their foes. For their reward they find a treasure of 4 potions of healing and 4 mage scrolls(Magic Missile, Identify, Dark Vision, and Hold Person).   Upon defeating the shadows the players hear the chanting getting louder and louder, beckoning them to their doom....
