An Adventurous and Productive Few Missions

It has been a while since I have covered my Dealing in this town that I now call home, there has been many successes and just as many losses.   With every adventure out of town we learn more of this land and even more of how far we can push before we get pushed back. In our mission to help a new gem prospector start a mine we were ambushed by a group of ogres and goblin that resulted in the loss of a few of the miners as well as the prospectors in the explosion of the smoke powder barrels which also maimed one of our local adventurers. With our success of driving off the ambush it is still hard to see all the losses of the people as well as an opportunity to expand upon the town.   In one of our exploration missions to learn more of what resides in the scab lands we found what my be the encampment of the ogre clan that is know as locally as the Bloody Fists. Knowing we would not be able to clear the camp we marked it on the map and left to explore further west along the border of the scab lands and the forest were we stumbled across a ritual with two ogres and some goblins one of the ogres which could cast very high level spells. luckily we were able to jump them as well as testing out my new inventions of my what I think I will call the "The Arcane Ballista, The Blazing Blunderbuss, and The Phalanx" (Force Ballista, Flamethrower, and Protector) With which we were able to defeat them and I am now in possession of a Mysterious black disk that is cold to the touch... it will be interesting to find out more of what it holds and if this is at all tied to those ruins and the ogre with the etching they took.   Finally with our last Quest I lead a few adventurers to see if we could take out the "Watchtower" that we previously discovered to be the staging point for the goblin raids. It took a few days of travel which was rather uneventful we got close to the tower where we saw a very obvious ambush with a crying baby tied up. We crept up and sprung the trap fighting the goblins that jumped out with relative ease saving the child. After which we found a safe spot for before the assaulted the Tower. We rushed through slaying Goblins quickly almost getting overrun in the process, however we were able to turn the tides of the battle as quickly ended the encamped goblins inside the tower. Looking around we found a handsome amount of gold inside as well with more information of a further stronghold deeper into their territory as well as more about this Drax and the creature that leads them to pillage the lands close to Fairhaven. With this info we will have to see if we have stemmed the tides of goblin raids or if this will just make things worse.   Regardless, some of the new adventurers that have joined us have shown to be very Promising and am glad to be adventuring with them. Plus with some more gold and buttering up of Wilfred we may soon be able to start work on the Masons/blacksmiths guild that I feel this town could so very much use. One of the things I may have to look for is someone who would start a stone quarry to supply the guild as what is a Mason without stone to work.
  • To a more prosperous town and life here in this place I know call home
  • Defin-ANT-ly an Interesting First Adventure

-Right off the Boat-   *Finally solid ground again and a hot meal in my belly... life is looking up. Meet up with some fellows from the boat at the tavern as well as a fairly drunk but nice local to find some work and make some starting money for our new lives here.   *Meet the local blacksmith, and found he may be interested in working with me... maybe making a small local guild. I will have to see if after getting myself a little more established if we can partner together to make this little town a little bit bigger and better.   *After doing some ground work we decide to head north and help out the Quarry Master/ Foreman Darrel with a ant infestation at the quarry, let us hope we don't end up like the fellows back at the temple.   *The travels were pretty easy until Loy went ahead and disturbed some Blood Hawks... well lets just say he got a little Bloodied from. He ended up deciding to head back to town after that, lets hope that we can still do this with the four of us.   *A storm is rolling in so we huddle up in some old ruins to stay for the night, the country side has been really nice a peaceful for the most part.   -The Quarry-   *With the storm from last night gone the heat today is rather unbearable but we make it to the quarry with plenty of time.   *Into the belly of the beast we descended and were one of use would never return from alive again. Jack was felled by the Ants but he was rather... Particular... in a bad way so I did not feel to remorseful for his passing. However with his death we were able to kill of the ants that had infested the lower parts of Darrel's Mine.   *With the death of the ants and the investigation of the hole they came from, it only brought questions. It felt familiar with all of the Dwarven-esk Craftsmanship but something just didn't feel right about it and i couldn't put my finger on it.   *The Queen was already dead but to what we don't know. Then there was the Ogre... he was writing something but in a language none of us know. We narrowly hide from it as it left from another entrance to this cave... labyrinth... who knows what it is really but we got all that we could from it and Darrel and his crew closed up the entrance. I think he will not be mining down in that area again, will be interesting to see how that affects his quarry.   *Questions to figure out when we get back, why was that Ogre there and what is that writing about that he took, What killed those ants in the Labyrinth as they had been dead a while ago, and what or who made those ruins.   -Here is to another day alive and a little bit richer!-

    A New Start

  • The Night Before the Trip
  • I have packed and repacked my bag every night for the past week in preparation for my journey. I have said a hundred goodbyes to my guild mates as well as my family and friends both too many a laugh of remembrance of the good times we have had, along with many tears as I prepare to leave those I am most fond of. However I am optimistic as I know I will be doing something that will change the course of my family name forever, I mean how many chances do you get to start a new life on a new and unexplored continent. I leave with hope and determination in my heart to forge a new and Prosperous life for myself. I put my pack down next to the bed and I lay down restlessly in anticipation of the coming days, may I find what I am looking for.
  • The First Day of the Rest of My New Life
  • I find myself eager, having been up early and double checking everything I had once more as well as sitting down for the last meal of my old life. The mist of the early morning fog cover the bay and the docks as I head to the ship, as I head aboard the ship a gust of early morning wind clears part of the fog warming me on the deck.   This feels like a Good Omen... But I will only know this once I have dirt between my toes again.
