Harper Pin

Harper pins are made by certain skilled secretive smiths in Evermeet, Mintarn, Waterdeep, Neverwinter, Everlund, Silverymoon, Evereska, High Horn, Shadowdale, Deepingdale, Lyrabar, and Starmantle. The smiths make Harper Pins of various power levels. For Senior and Master Harpers the Harper Pin is enchanted by any one of the Archmages in the Harpers including Elminster himself or Alifair the Blue.

Types of Harper Pins

There are several power levels to a Harper Pin.
Harper Pin of Resistance: This pin is given to a rank and file member, "the watchers" when they have proven themselves to other harpers. The Pin has the following Powers:

• +1 bonus to all saves

Harper Pin of Protection: This pin is given to valuable members of the faction who have proven themselves. The pin has the following powers:

• +3 Deflection Bonus to AC
• +3 Resistance Bonus to Saves

Harper Pin: The Harper Pin is awarded to those that become Senior Harpers, or Master Harpers. The Powers of this pin are significant.

• +5 Resistance Bonus to Saves vs Mind Affecting Spells
• Non Detection DC 31
• Immunity to Magic Missile
• Turn Black and Jangles Discordantly as if a metal-stringed harp was being savagely struck, when worn by an Evil individual

Manufacturing process

Master Harper Pins are forged then handed over to the Archmage for enchantment.

Significance

Harper Pins signify membership of the harpers. This means Harper agents will not always wear the pin because they may not want to be revealed.  Often though the pin will be hidden somewhere underneath the outer garments.
