GoreHaven

"Gut the old ways"

History

Gorehaven once thrived as a human city at the northern edge of the eastern continent, until the Sundering shattered the world. The people of Gorehaven, facing extinction in the harsh Red Mesa, were transformed by Zar'Khan, God of War's blessing into the first Orc , born to endure even the cruelest of fates. Forced to survive in a land stripped of resources, the Orcs rebuilt Gorehaven with scant materials—primarily the bones and leather of massive, twisted creatures and deadwood—leaving almost nothing of the old city intact. Gorehaven became a patchwork of rugged shelters and tents, an unforgiving reflection of their lives on the Red Mesa.

In the past, Gorehaven was a city deeply rooted in rituals, warrior culture, and a fierce reverence for blood and combat. But as the seas eventually calmed, new possibilities emerged. Driven by the urge for survival and the allure of escape, some Orcs looked to the sea, first for sustenance and later as a path toward piracy. With the city hemmed in by insurmountable barriers, the ocean became the only viable route beyond their natural prison. This growing tension finally fractured Gorehaven, and the younger, sea-bound generation exiled the traditionalists to Bloodclaw.

Now

Today, the Orcs of Gorehaven craft ever stronger ships, venturing farther south each season, driven by dreams of freedom from the Red Mesa. Yet, among those who hold to tradition, there is growing resentment. To them, the seafaring lifestyle is a betrayal, a deviation from Zar'khan’s divine trials. An Orc’s life is shaped by combat and trial, by blood spilled with purpose—not by reckless plunder. To turn to piracy is an affront to their ancestors, for every life taken is seen as sacred, a divine act that must never be taken in vain. This rift between tradition and ambition remains Gorehaven’s defining struggle as the Orcs wrestle with their place in the world.
