Night Touched

Night touched, also known as shadow-touched, are tragic beings who have succumbed to their darkest fears and weaknesses. Once individuals who battled their inner demons, they failed to prove themselves worthy of the night’s trials. As a result, they underwent a horrifying transformation, becoming twisted shadows of their former selves. These creatures embody the essence of despair and darkness, marked by an unsettling appearance that hints at their once-human nature.

The transformation into shadowtouched is a gradual process, initiated when a person is touched or attacked by a Nightmare. If they survive the encounter but yield to their fears and recurring night horrors, they begin to lose their identity and humanity, gradually morphing into these dark entities. Their forms are often obscured, resembling shifting shadows that can instill fear in the hearts of those who encounter them. Shadowtouched possess an aura of hopelessness, their presence serving as a reminder of the darkness that can dwell within every soul.

Now bound to the will of Myrakka, Goddess of Darkness, shadowtouched are compelled to skulk through the night, carrying out her bidding. They act as agents of fear and despair, perpetuating the very nightmares that once tormented them. Despite their loss of humanity, fragments of their former selves may remain, flickering like a dying ember, a tragic echo of who they once were before being consumed by darkness. The shadowtouched serve as a dire warning to others: to confront their faults and fears or risk becoming something far worse than they ever imagined.
