Dragonborn

Born of dragons, as their name proclaims, the dragonborn walk proudly through a world that greets them with fearful incomprehension. Shaped by draconic gods or the dragons themselves, dragonborn originally hatched from dragon eggs as a unique race, combining the best attributes of dragons and humanoids. Some dragonborn are faithful servants to true dragons, others form the ranks of soldiers in great wars, and still others find themselves adrift, with no clear calling in life.

Society

The dragonborn are a race that is steeped in traditions born centuries ago. Little has changed in their sense of honor and tradition and it shows in the way that dragonborn interact with people of all races. During the war between the Dwarves and Elves the dragonborn refused to join either side in the conflict but instead acted as mediators between the two nations. When the dragonborn saw that the humans were becoming fewer and fewer then the dragonborn shifted their focus and entered a treated with the nation of Naliph which began the age of these nations providing protection for the humans.   Within the nation of the dragonborn there are several clans that make of the various families within the borders of Einsaung Nat. The clans of Crab, Crane, Dragon, Lion, Phoenix, Scorpion, and Unicorn each work in differing ways to protect the people of Einsaung Nat. The oldest of these clans, the Crane, continue to be at the forefront of the nation and guide the political actions of the dragonborn as the world around them changes in this new era.

Alignment

The dragonborn are well known for their traditions and honor, though this does not always mean that the dragonborn walk a path devote to law and the ways of good. In many of the clans the dragonborn harbor their own dark secrets as sects within the clan are known for being of darker influence and in many cases it is those that follow this dark path that are the most influential. When it comes to the religion of the dragonborn a quick walk through the city will find that there are temples set to every known god within the pantheon. While the dragonborn do not promote the worship of gods like Hade, they strongly believe that these temples allow the dragonborn to pray for forgiveness from these darker gods. Religion is a subject with roots as deeply entrenched as those of the social aspects of the dragonborn. In many cases the clans believe and follow the teachings of the Goddess Floraison, believing that life is to be cherished in all cases.

Relations

Dragonborn can appear to be socially awkward at times because of their unfamiliarity with outside cultures and manners. However, dragonborn that have sought a life outside of the boarders of Einsaung Nat have learned to adapt to the variations in the social cultures they encounter. Many dragonborn hold tight to their beliefs and as a result argument can arise from subjects that relate to honor, faith, and law. The dragonborn are stubborn and find it hard to listen to or accept foreign concepts that may influence change of their beliefs.   The dragonborn are still strong allies with the nation of Naliph and have built an embassy within the borders of the capital city of Jade. Additionally, the dragonborn have expanded their social influence to Duragle and Cultrius in an attempt to re-establish themselves as mediators between the two nations. It is the hope of the dragonborn that the old-world traditions that they follow will be an influence between the elves and dwarves that will inspire peace for many years to come.

Names

Dragonborn have personal names given at birth, but they put their clan names first as a mark of honor. A childhood name or nickname is often used among clutchmates as a descriptive term or a term of endearment. The name might recall an event or center on a habit.
