Dwarves

Tough of body and mind, the dwarven people have become accustomed to living a solitary life in cities built deep beneath the world's mountains. Born from their fierce preference to remain solitary the dwarves sacrificed their once-proud home of Gorg. Taken from them by force thanks to a curse placed upon the dwarven people of old as they blamed a hero that came to save their people for the death of a beloved dwarven hero. This stubbornness has had generations to fester from their ancestors to become a way of life in the modern world.   Ancient-Blooded Dwarf: These dwarves can trace their bloodlines back to the beginning of recorded civilization.  Dwarves of ancient blood are fiercely proud of their nation and the people that populate it.  Those that challenge the craftsmanship of Orhim, a city built in honor of the fallen city of Gorg, will find themselves trapped for hours as Ancient-Blooded dwarves defend their city with a wild abandon.  This loyalty to their homeland makes it uncommon for Ancient-Blooded dwarves to venture beyond the boarders of Jyn Urndlikr.   Anvil Dwarf: Revered tradesmen and women among the dwarven people.  These masters of the forge provide their critical skills to keep the city of Orhim running and it is commonly said that without their services the nation of Jyn Urndlikr would come to a swift end.  It is not uncommon that Anvil Dwarves travel to neighboring cities as a way to spread both their own reputation but also as a diplomatic gesture of support when needed.   Forge Dwarf: Legends tell of a family of dwarves that lived near the very core of the mountain and bathed in the lava that flowed around their home.  This ancient legend is told as a bed time story to dwarven youths as a way to explain the unusual dwarves that seem unfazed by hot environments.  Often considered to be the odd ones among the dwarven people the Forge Dwarf even manages to be even more secluded within the dwarven community that the dwarves are of the world.   Rock Dwarf: Thick, stout, and hearty, the Rock Dwarf is what those with little experience with the dwarven people assume that all dwarves are like.  These dwarven people commonly work the mines deep in the city of Orhim as they help to expand the city as well as mine rare stones and metals.  Rock Dwarves are prone to tire of working the mines and to seek a more interesting life in the world beyond.   Strong-Blooded Dwarf: Similar to the Ancient-Blooded dwarves, the Strong-Blooded dwarves can trace their lineage well into the history of the dwarven people.  The core difference between the two is that Strong-Blooded dwarves rarely mix with other dwarves so as to keep their blood line pure.  While it is not unheard of for the Strong-Blooded dwarves to marry dwarves of other bloodlines there has never been a Strong-Blooded dwarf who has mixed their blood with any other ancestry known to the world.   Other Dwarves: There are several other ancestry of dwarf that make up the population of Jyn Urndlikr.  These other ancestries are uncommon, however, and as such there is not as much known of them.  These are the Elemental Heart Dwarf and the Oathkeeper Dwarf.  As time ever marches forward more may be learned of these dwarven ancestries as they become more prominent within the nation.
