Elves

Known among scholars as the Father's of Modern Society, the elves were among the first people of Falandas to build a settlement that would eventually grow into the nation known as Cultrius . Through their centuries of life the elven people would lean into and master elements of daily life ranging from farming to the creation of the first sailing vessels. However, the long lifespan of the elves has also lead to having certain expectations of society in the world and an unspoken demand in the manner of the elven people. Change as a people has come slowly for the elven people despite all of their struggles as a nation.   Ancient Elf The eldest of the elven people, and often considered the wisest of the people, the Ancient Elves have lived long lives and experienced much of the history of Cultrius. Many of the Ancient Elves hold positions of political power based on the assumption that age brings about wisdom. Only recently has there been a shift of this viewpoint among the elven people though this is a minority opinion.   Arctic Elf Arctic Elves are uncommon among the elven people. Born to the earliest explorers in distant lands where the weather was of a significantly colder climate than Cultrius. With skin and hair of light complexion than the standard elf the Arctic Elf is often looked at oddly by their piers who are native to Falandas. This is compounded on by the Arctic Elf rarely making a return to the elven nation, much less spending any time of significance in Cultrius or her surrounding nations.   Cavern Elf Commonly the Cavern Elf is referred to as Drow. This particular ancestry of the elves are the rarest to see within the confines of society. Legends tell of a massive city found deep beneath the surface of the world that spans for hundreds of miles that is communally ruled. There is little that is actually known about Cavern Elves, however, and those few that find their way to the surface of the world do not divulge the secrets of their people.   Desert Elf Before the Day of Ascension it was a common bit of daily life to see elves mixed in within the Naliph people in the eastern deserts of Falandas. These elves migrated north into the Bad Lands of Athalon since the formation of the Sea of Glass. The blending of the elven ways with the ways of both the Naliph and Alivaran people make the Desert Elf the most social of all the elven ancestries.   Seer Elf The arcane academies of the world owe loyalty to the Seer Elves who aided the Munasarjan and Alivaran people in the formation of these schools. Elven society gives the Seer Elf a natural push toward the study of the Arcane Arts. Under the rule of Lucan 'Caracal' 'Stag' Bellrie a shift against this societal expectation has begun to show through.   Whisper Elf Whisper elves prefer to venture the world over and rarely put down roots in any single place. It is far more common to encounter a Whisper Elf in the world than any other elven ancestry as a result. Many other nations seek to retain the services of Whisper Elves due to their exceptional hearing which makes the Whisper Elf an expert scout.   Woodland Elf Thick forests surround the nation of Cultrius, and many elves live among these trees as farmers, loggers, and a number of other common professions that are the true lifeblood to the people of Cultrius. Life among the forest offers a unique opportunity for the Woodland Elves to become skilled at moving about within the canopy of the forests. Within the nation of Cultrius the Woodland Elf is considered to be the commoner among the people.
