The Silver Society

Comprised of metal workers, jewelers, woodworkers, and blacksmiths from across Jyr Urndlikr, The Silver Society is renowned for their handcrafted works. The Silver Society was formed from a collection of concerned craftsmen who wanted to provide aid to the people of the former nation of Dorth during the course of the Whispering War. Over the centuries since the organization has become a prominent political group across many nations, but none more significantly than Jyr Urndlikr where The Silver Society is based. From here The Silver Society fights against the monarchy in the pursuit for a free democratic nation of Jyr Urndlikr.   The Silver Society only allows masters of their field to join the ranks of the guild as the demand for these master craftsmen directly funds the guilds private directives. This demand is of such significance that the The Silver Society has developed several guild halls in the capital cities of neighboring nations. Over the years the political influence of The Silver Society would eventually creep into the politics of those nations as The Silver Societies influence continues to spread.

Structure

Entry into The Silver Society is a coveted position that is only granted to a select few members of the mercantile class.  Interested parties submit applications to join the guild once a year on the Celebration of Harmony (Figaiu 22nd).  These applications are reviewed in the region where they are submitted for consideration of members to that local chapter.  If admitted into The Silver Society a member is only allowed access to local resources within the venue where the member had applied.  Once an individual has become a member of the society they are permitted to request transfers to new regions under either a craftsmen banner, or as a political influencer.   Craftsmen stand at the forefront of The Silver Society as the goods and services that they provide bring in necessary income to fund all operations.  These craftsmen are granted a store front that they can operate from which is emblazoned with the societies coat of arms above the front entrance.  If the craftsmen requires resources to complete their particular works they are provided by The Silver Society at one quarter the normal market price.  Security is also provided at no additional cost to any store front operated by a Craftsmen of The Silver Society.   The political members of the guild are chosen based on their areas of expertise and how much impact that persons skill may influence the leaders of the assigned nation.  For a nation that is in a tense situation that may potentially bring war in the future then political members with a background as a master blacksmith or armorer will be assigned to spread influence in that area.  Peaceful realms with a strong artistic history, such as Einsaung Nat, are more likely to have woodworkers and bricklayers assigned to their realm to influence expansion of the population.   Promotion within the guild is based on seniority and is rarely seen.  Though members of The Silver Society are all treated as equals there is a small counsel that makes final decisions on matters of dispute within the ranks of the guild.  These members are selected from the most senior members of the Wayfarers as the guild sees the age of these members to grant the counsel wisdom in times of turmoil.  The current counsel consists of Glorrak Brickmason , Noradred Mithril, and Bolka Stoneport, with Glorrak being the senior most member of the counsel.

Public Agenda

The Silver Society looks to improve the economy of each nation that they have established a guild hall in.  Through subtle manipulation of the political arena the guildmembers drive commerce while increasing, or decreasing, the publics confidence in their leadership.  The only divergence to this objective is within the borders of Jyn Urndlikr where the society looks to replace the monarchy with a democracy which would grant the dwarven people the right to vote through free elections.

The silver that smiles back.
