Winterlands

The winterlands are characterized by their extremely low temperatures. The temperature begins to drop abruptly as you pass over the Spring Rim to the south, the difference felt as soon as you pass from one side of the mountain range to the other. The north side of the range is blanketed by forest, dense ice pines inhibiting most other growth. The pines blunt all but the strongest of weapons, and even if successfully harvested for lumber, turn brittle and snappish once cut down. Past the trees, the land quickly turns to snowy barrens for miles. Go far enough north and you'll hit glacier country, where the surface beneath the snow turns from earth to ice and peaks rise jagged into the sky. To the east, the Frozen Range begins, a smaller mountain range that curves down into the summer lands. At one point held by the Dragons of the Shatter, then the Water Element, the winterlands are now occupied by the Winter Kingdom.
