Huarachicoy is a feast featuring massive meals, dancing and feats of strength and endurance without aid.

Huaca Excursion

Huanacauri mountain is sacred as Ca-Chisneu's favoured huaca for worship. Other quadrants would travel to Fire Mountain, Queen in the South, the Honey Towers and the Great Green to fulfill this role.

Every initiate buys a sacrificial llama to be brought to the mountain's spirit. For every social class, the boys are celebrated with their permanent adult names. In addition, noble boys would have their ears pierced with golden plugs signifiy their higher status.
On the return journey, they are expected to endure their relatives beating their legs with sticks, without slowing down or showing pain to prove their manhood.

Components and tools

Adult Clothing

Boys of 14 years receive a loincloth, hand-woven by their mothers, and other adult clothing. Though they are not expected to carry a full adult's workload until marriage at 25, they are steadily given greater and greater responsibilities until then.

Weapons of War

Shields, slings and maces are gifted as their ability to serve in Tawantinsuyu's terrestrial army. These often represents the first 'real' weapon many would have handled in their lives up to that point.

Observance

Both huarachicoy and quichicoy occur within the Capac Raymi celebrations by the entire community.
