Soul Sculpting
by hughpierre
Utility
A magical procedure that intertwines the miasma of a living body with the physiological effects of an animal's special ability. The purpose is to grant additional innate abilities to the recipient like unaided flight, invisible claws, gliding speed or restoration of a lost limb.
Ethereal flesh laced itself through the skeletal hand. Where muscle fibres and ligaments wove like thread through a loom and a silver skin simmered over the faux hand.
Manufacturing
The canvas I paint is upon your own soul. It is an more malleable than people think.
Two people are involved in the process: the sculptor and the sculptee. A deep anatomical familiarity is required of the sculptor for whatever skill transference is requested.
The specifics are not clearly known, but it has been observed that a dull silver-like scalpel is used to press the flat sides against the sculptee in order to "mold the camay around you like clay"
Social Impact
Nuna Runa
Soul sculptors are rare and hold a prestigious position in Runa society. In spite of the obvious military advantage in granting extra corporeal abilities to the majority of their population; as during Nuna Ruruchina. This power is now mostly limited to the very elite of the Ghost People.
Children Technologies
Access & Availability
The caster must have detailed knowledge of the desired anatomy so as to reshape the soul into a mini avatar of the real thing.
Complexity
The procedure carves the will of the caster onto the recipient's normal human soul outline. Some sculptings would need to be occasionally rebound due to higher complexity or lesser work.
