Dea

One of the two Sacratean deities, and half of the dichotomy. If Numen is the sun, Dea is the moon. Both have great influence, but Dea is slightly less worshipped than her counterpart. She is gentle but stern, commanding the sea, darkness, night, life, healing, rebirth, and the moon. She is seen as the champion of the oppressed, injured, or "weak".   Over time, she and Numen have seemingly withdrawn some from the world. The tides are weaker, the moon is dimmer, and most importantly to mortals: magic could not be used for resurrection anymore. It was she who gifted this delicate magic to mortals, so when the gods started to withdraw, the connection immediately vanished. During this time, her communication with mortals has faded as well.

Artifacts

The Lunar Falcata - A mythical sword, forged with the power of the sun and cooled in the primordial sea. Many rumors have existed about its powers, but some of the most common include its ability to sap life, control massive amounts of water, and summon blades of water.

Tenets of Faith

  • Dea & Numen are the only true gods. All others are outlawed in Sacratus.
  • The gods' plan is far greater than any mortal's.
  • The word of the gods must spread. Other gods may be blasphemy, but but an outsider with true faith is not.
  • Worship the gods daily, and be proud of your faith.
  • Success comes to those in the gods' light.
  • Fear the gods. Their love is more powerful than any evil, but so is their wrath.
