Numen

One of the two Sacratean deities, and half of the dichotomy. If Dea is the moon, Numen is the sun. Both have great influence, but Numen is slightly more revered than his counterpart. He is radiant but stern, commanding the sky, light, day, death, war, prosperity, and the sun. He is seen as the champion of the strong, brave, and clever.   Over time, he and Dea have seemingly withdrawn some from the world. The winds are weaker, the skies are cloudy, and most importantly to mortals: magic can no longer be used for resurrection. It was he and Dea who gifted this delicate magic to mortals, so when the gods started to withdraw, the connection immediately vanished. During this time, his communication with mortals has faded as well.

Artifacts

The Solar Spatha - A mythical sword, shard of the sea, tempered in the heat of the primordial sun. Many speculations have existed about its powers, but some of its most common include its ability to cut through anything, light anything it touches on fire, and summon beams of solar energy.

Tenets of Faith

  • Dea & Numen are the only true gods. All others are outlawed in Sacratus.
  • The gods' plan is far greater than any mortal's.
  • The word of the gods must spread. Other gods may be blasphemy, but but an outsider with true faith is not.
  • Worship the gods daily, and be proud of your faith.
  • Success comes to those in the gods' light.
  • Fear the gods. Their love is more powerful than any evil, but so is their wrath.
