Magi

"What remains after Life discards you, the world it wrought you in?" - Magi

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

If you're able to get a bird's eye view of Magi, then you might spot a large horizontal scar across his head. This feature is shared among his fellow mages.

Special abilities

Prior to his initiation with the Vindexian mages, Magi was granted the power to wield the spells confined within the Scroll of the Manipulative Arts. Despite this overwhelming potential, Magi only knows a handful of spells and is forbidden from using them near any non-mage.

Weapon of Choice: Dagger & Throwing Knives

Mental characteristics

Education

Basic Military Training and teachings from the Vindexian mages.

Failures & Embarrassments

During a guerilla warfare operation, Magi was ordered to lead a sneak attack on marching Provector forces. Despite receiving a direct order, he just stood there with a blank stare. After several minutes of not responding to his superior, someone else was chosen to lead the ambush. They won the skirmish, and Magi was swiftly imprisoned for his blatant disregard for direct orders.

Mental Trauma

Once he turned 12, Magi was ready to be the thing he had trained his entire life to be; a mage. Although initiation wasn't filled with the pleasantries he had imagined. In fact, it had quite the opposite. The children kept in the tower were fed lies by the mages, they saw initiation as a party. A high ranking mage escorted Magi to a stone chair in the center of a dungeon. As he was restrained, he observed what little he could, why is it so dark in here? The only thing that filled the void of darkness with tension, as the ritual was unpredictable. Magi was a little nervous, but his superiors surrounded him; they would protect him, wouldn't they? He called out to one he knew, but she didn't respond, in fact the entire room was silent. The mage that escorted him stepped up behind the chair and lifted something right above his head. The audience of mages' eyes poured over the scene in suspense. Unbeknownst to them, Magi was starting to get itchy in his blood-dried restraints. So he lifted his head in order to scratch it. The second he moved his head, a rusty dagger crashed directly into his thigh. The mage above him cursed under his breath as Magi started to wail and struggle in pain. In order to restrain him further, a couple of mages stepped in from the sidelines to hold him still. The dagger-wielding mage removed the dagger from Magi's thigh and regained his grip. With careful aiming, he finally hit his mark. The dagger was now stuck in his head, now was the hardest part. The blade was wedged back and forth in a horizontal manner while exposing brain matter. By this time, Magi had gone unconscious from both pain and brain damage. The slashing ceased once the dagger glowed in satisfaction. Magi's twitching body was then thrown in a rat-infested cell inside of the dungeon. After brushing the blood from their robes, the mages went on along with normal duties.

Social

Social Aptitude

Normally very quiet and prefers not to speak to others, Magi seems like a creep at first sight. And he kind of is, but his social ineptitude is due in part to the initiation ritual he underwent at the Tower of Manipulation.
