The Palace
"When you look around the castle, it really stresses the total overwhelming amount of duties that the nasty dictator is in charge of. The amount of offices and rooms boggled my mind at the time, but considering that now it makes sense. The tyrant's abode is strictly off limits to unauthorized officials." -Edith Scourge (A Vindexian Spy)
Purpose / Function
The most important use of this structure is to provide safe shelter for the almighty dictator. Its secondary uses take up most of the castle. Offices, offices, offices crowd the place with paper, tax filings, and records flying among the wooden cubicles. Large halls hold subordinates to vote on bills that will be passed to the dictator for his approval. There are also large amounts of guard barracks hidden underground in case of an attack. The soldiers held here are described as some of the best, and endure rigorous tests to maintain their position.
Alterations
Many decoration and reinforcement measures have been made over time. Mosaics, busts, and paintings have been implemented into the walls and rooms of the castle. Other decorations like carpet have been added whose color delegates its room's use. Brick and steel have been built on to the foundation and walls for extra protection. Construction for reinforcements is still being undergone to this day.
Architecture
The exterior is reinforced with stone, hardened clay, and steel. This creates a formidable, towering appearance to those on the outside. Inside, the floors are covered in bright carpets and sculptures. The walls remain the same materials as are on the outside, though they are adorned in art made by monks. The entire style is best described as Medieval, with a touch of Provector technology.
History
During Provectus' inception, The Palace was made only for the dictator's (at that time) residence and comfort. But, as war began to brew, the palace was given barracks to protect the center of power. Then the dictator gave his subordinates power and their own offices. Art became later additions to stress Provector beauty. The castle became the beast it is now through a series of building up and progression throughout time.
