The Chinon Castle is located on the banks of the Vienne River, a tributary of the Loire, in a strategically favorable position: from the south, it is separated by the river, and from the other sides, by a mighty forest. Moreover, this forest is located in one of the most inaccessible parts of France - in the triangle between Vienne and Loire, where you can get only through the city of Tours or through several small fords that are easy to control. In 1429, the castle was the seat of Dauphin Charles, the heir to the French throne, who did not recognize the power of the British over his country.

Шинонский замок располагается на берегу реки Вьенны, притока Луара, в стратегически удачной позиции: с юга он отделён рекой, а с остальных сторон - могучим лесом. Причём этот лес располагается в одной из самых недоступных частей Франции - в треугольнике между Вьенной и Луаром, куда можно попасть лишь через город Тур или через несколько мелких бродов, которые легко контролировать. В 1429 году замок был резиденцией Дофина Шарля, наследника французского престола, не признававшего власти англичан над его страной.

Chinon Castle consists of a fortress, a fortress wall and a fairly wide courtyard. The fortress contained many elite chambers, which were enough to accommodate hundreds of nobles or high-ranking representatives of the Church, as well as one and a half hundred smaller rooms, where servants and guests of non-noble origin were settled.

Шинонский замок состоит из крепости, крепостной стены и довольно широкого внутреннего двора. Крепость - из множества элитных покоев, которых было достаточно для расселения сотни дворян или высокопоставленных представителей Церкви, а также полутора сотен помещений поменьше, куда расселяли прислугу и гостей недворянского происхождения.
