Regulation of Magic throughout Tharan

The use of magic is heavily regulated all around the world, as not only can it be used to inflict a tremendous amount of damage but also hurt a lot of people if one is not careful. The abuse of Magic can also significantly impact the user and potentially turn them into a demon.

As such, most countries prohibit the use of magic or severly restrict it's use, mostly through extensive certification and tracking of mages. In most places, bloodmancers have to let themselves be tracked by the government and disclose in most circumstances that they are mages.

In more extreme nations, mage users are simply imprisoned regardless of use, and sometimes even executed.

These circumstances make it very difficult for mages to live a normal life and most try hide the fact they are even able to use magic.
