Akhemaaz
Akhemaaz, also known as the Abyssal King, is an antagonistic deity seen in the sspiritual and religious mythos of the andeamer. This figure works in opposition to Mazarath and is observed to have been present in these mythos from the beginning. Akhemaaz and Mazarath, as well as all ätherä, are considered the same type of being; they have a common origin, but this origin is unclear.
According to the andeamer creation story, Akhemaaz attempts to mimic Ënokh and create life, but fails. He attempts this in a plane dubbed "the Void", which is largely implied to have already existed. Many assume Akhemaaz created the Void, but no retelling actually specified this. Akhemaaz is overcome by jealousy and murders Ënokh and it is from here we see the beginning of his antagonistic nature and fulfillment of an opposing deity in andeamer lore. Akhemaaz then spirits away what Ënokh created, the primordial andeamer, also called the "soul" of the andeamer, to the Void. The primordial andeamer are shaped by their experiences in the Void and these experience are the synthesis for their flaws is a people. During these events, Mariax Stygal is said to have witnessed Akhemaaz's crimes and then seeks the aid of Mazarath and her followers.
A great war ensues among the ätherä; the Vassals who follow Mazarath and the Void who support Akhemaaz. During this war, Akhemaaz and Mazarath directly quarreled and in their skirmish pieces of them were broken. From Akhemaaz's pieces, it is said he created the Säthespïra, the Greater Voids. From these newly created beings, Akhemaaz's reach and corruption could spread easier. The Abyssal King has never relented in obfuscating and tempting andeamer.
Divine Domains
Akhemaaz is found within the Void. He is not known to leave, but instead sends his Säthespïra to complete his tasks. The Void is a foreign and bizarre place from the perspective of mortal life. It is full of dangers and mysteries. It is shaped by the things that inhabit and those who find themselves spirited into this realm. Attempts to learn of this plane appears to be solely undertook by the High Priestesses of Mazarath. These warrior priestesses hold no place for fear of the Void in their souls. Their accounts are seldom de-classified by the Temple of Mazarath, but many will confirm it a terrifying place none should venture into.
However, this does not satisfy everyone's curiosity. The Void may be entered and in fact controlled. Some veherrihs are sensitive to Void. Void-Seers can call upon the beings of the Void with ease as well as communicate in their own special way. Void-Walkers are known to pass through the veil and enter the Void, either physically or spiritually. For these reasons, they are feared and stigmatized.
But these are not the only way to enter the Void. In the province of Vinde Yal Mäsvyel lies the Void-Gates. Below the peak in which the temple to Mazarath sits upon, you will see a towering arch carve into the black mountain-side. On either side, enormous statues of Mïzärn and Marëkhs stand guard, their arm interlocked. In its origin story, these gods sealed this worldly entrance to the Void after an attempted invasion by Suluth Styrr. In the arch, a wall of obsidian glimmers in the sun, but always remains cool to the touch.
